Bespoke CMS

Do your require a website and CMS build to an exacting specification?

Do you require a content management system built to your requirements?

There are many of off-the-shelf content management systems available, and a corresponding diversity in what functions these provide as well as pricing which can range from a few hundred to hundreds of thousands of pounds.  At DMC we have developed our own CMS in-house as a result of bespoke web development work carried out for many large organisations and used in a range of applications.

However, why would choose a custom made or bespoke CMS as opposed to an off-the-shelf solution?

Perhaps your websites functional requirements fall out-with the range of features provided by those off-the-shelf solutions available within your budget.

You need (or anticipate the need for) a high degree of flexibility, so that your web developers can add new functions to your CMS, make programmed modifications or scale your system according to your evolving needs.

Developing a bespoke CMS requires the creation of a list of website functions. This is referred to as a “functional specification” and typically outlines all the proposed website features.

Questions such as:

  • What will the web-site do?
  • How should it work for the user?
  • What types of users will use the website?
  • Are on-line payments required?

and so on, will help when preparing this specification.

If you would like us to provide a quotation for a bespoke website CMS based on a functional specification you have prepared, or would like our assistance in creating a specification, please contact us and we will be glad to help.
